Koncerts "LNSO un maestro Jorma Panula. Štrauss un Sibēliuss" Rīgas Latviešu biedrībā
A concert by the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO) under the direction of the legendary Finnish maestro Jorma Panula is performed live from the Great Hall of the Riga Latvian Society House!
The concert program includes the Second Symphony by Jean Sibelius and the Oboe Concerto by Richard Strauss with a solo by Egils Upatnieks.
During the intermission of the concert – conversations with and about the 94-year-old Master, recognized as one of the world's 60 strongest personalities in music: Namely, an interview with the concertmaster of the LNSO alto group Arigo Strahl, who remembers maestro Panula's previous concert with LNSO, because he participated in it himself, as well as with the young conductor Māris Ship, who has visited and continues to attend master classes of the Jorma Panula Academy on several occasions. Of course, we also listen to the maestro Jorma Panula himself.
