Ensemble Kontraste
2020 ist Beethoven-Jahr - und das Nürnberger Ensemble Kontraste startet mit einer außergewöhnlichen Uraufführung in die Beethoven-Feierlichkeiten: „EroicAnization“ von Gene Pritsker - Komponist, Gitarrist, Rapper und DJ aus New York City. Auf seinem Twitter Account beschreibt sich Gene Pritsker als Komponist mit einem „eklektischen Spektrum an Stilen“. Das einstmalige Schimpfwort „eklektisch“ ist heute zum Markenzeichen geworden: Alle Stile stehen uns offen, die Kunst ist es, daraus etwas bisher Ungehörtes und Unerhörtes zu kreieren. Die „Eroica“, Beethovens dritte Symphonie, diente Gene Pritsker als Inspirationsquelle und „Ionisation“ von Edgard Varèse als Kompositionsanregung für das Auftragswerk „EroicAnization“ für DJ und Kammerensemble, eine faszinierende Klangreise zwischen Wien und New York, zwischen Klassik und Club.
Außerdem auf dem Programm des Neujahrskonzerts des Ensembles Kontraste, geleitet von Hans Rotmann: Kurt Weills „Kleine Dreigroschenmusik“ - gewissermaßen ein Urahn von Gene Pritsker in Sachen Stilpluralismus - und die Kammersymphonie von Franz Schreker.

Beethoven's pieces for piano on original instruments
Just because "bagatelles" is above it, the piano pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven are far from being waste products! Their title only indicates the small form. Beethoven himself was quite proud of these miniatures. He counted his opus 126 among the best he has ever written. The pianist Tobias Koch has paid attention to these neglected compositions. He recorded them on CD - on original Beethoven instruments: a Graf grand piano and a Nanette string grand piano from the Buhl collection in Marthashofen and a tangent grand piano from Michael Rosenberger's workshop, which the Miltenberg piano salon made available has asked. You can also hear original compositions for a travel piano, a so-called orphica from the collection of the German Museum in Munich.
