Nobel Concert 2019 - Blomstedt conducts Nordic music
This year's Nobel Concert has Nordic signs. The main number is Jean Sibelius's second symphony, a work that lies warmly to Herbert Blomstedt and which he has directed several times during his long career. We also hear songs by Wilhelm Stenhammar and Edvard Grieg with soprano Miah Persson.
The Nobel Concert celebrates this year's Nobel Laureate, who just like representatives of the Swedish royal house hear the concert in place.
The program includes interviews with both Miah Persson and Herbert Blomstedt. A longer interview with Blomstedt can be found at the bottom of the section.
